Quick but Legen... wait for it... dary!!!

While this was an extremely quick sketch, it was still done by one of my long time favorites, Mike Grell. Mike did this sketch for me a long time ago... 99 0r 2000, not sure which. It was definitely at Wizardworld in Chicago though. As much as I would have loved something more from Mike, the fact is it was incredibly good fortune that I even got this one. At the time that I found Mike Grell in artist alley he was completely booked up for sketches... and yes I found him on the Saturday and Sunday was already full too. Mike though was very gracious and offered to do a very quick sketch for me. I can't say how much I appreciated the gesture, and how much I still do as I have not seen him at a convention since that time. If I ever get the chance I will gladly upgrade to a bigger sketch but if I never get that opportunity, I will still have this one and I am good with that. If you want to see more of his work you can find Mike on his website.

Speedy

Love this Speedy sketch. Done in Toronto in 2005 or 2006 for my Titans sketch book. I believe the artist was Mike Delmundo of Bright Anvils Studios, although I could be wrong. Definitely a Bright Anvil artist though. If anyone knows for sure... feel free to drop me a line.

Finally getting to my first post of 2008

I haven't had many sketches done of villains in my Teen Titans sketch book but this is one exception. Wildebeest was sketched (painted) by Zen artist Andy Lee at Wizard World Chicago in 2006. I love to watch artists work, it probably has something to do with the fact that I have such minimal artistic ability, Andy though is probably the most fun to watch. Andy is always covered in paint and ink while he works, and I mean covered. His hands, shirt, even his face always carry as much ink as the page does. You can find more of Andy's work on his website.
